This
is an AQE Award winning cover for Aftermarket Business Magazine,
a trade journal for the automotive aftermarket industry.
My Personal highlights
for this project were, coming up with the concept and art directing the
cover. I worked with the editorial team presenting sketches of different
compositions, until we decided on the direction. The Photographer used
a large format camera to get the detail we were looking for. I asked the
photographer to use gels on the lighting to achieve the unusual lighting
effect.
I used Photoshop to produce the “embossed look” for the Aftermarket
logo.
The client is considered
both the reader and the editor. My objective was to come up with a concept
that would speak to the reader and help the editor visually communicate
the idea of the written story.
Objectives:
• Understand target reader
• Easy readability
• Create intrigue and interest for reader
